The Pinnacle has been in the La-Z-Boy lineup long enough to earn a reputation, and it keeps showing up in living rooms for a simple reason. It reclines fully without needing to sit halfway across the room.

What the Pinnacle sofa is
The Pinnacle is a wall reclining sofa. Instead of tipping backward like a traditional recliner, the seat glides forward as the back drops. As a result, you can place it just inches from a wall and still recline all the way.
Visually, it reads as a classic pillowed-back sofa. Tall backs are plush and channel-stitched, arms are padded and rolled, and the seats run into chaise legrests. Because there’s no gap between seat and legrest, your legs stay supported end to end.
Underneath, the seat cushions use high-grade foam. The back pillows use double-picked blown fiber fill, which helps them hold their loft instead of flattening into pancakes after a year.

A few of those numbers deserve a note. The 20″ seat height is on the taller side, which makes standing up easier. Meanwhile, the 20″ seat depth is fairly shallow. La-Z-Boy positions the Pinnacle as a small-scale frame, suited to people roughly 5’4″ to 5’9″.
That said, taller sitters often still like it, because the tall back gives the head and shoulders somewhere to land. If you’re much over 5’9″, it’s worth sitting in one before you commit.
The reclined depth of 66.5″ is the number people forget. Measure from the wall out to your coffee table before you fall in love with it.
Manual or power
The base Pinnacle is manual. Side-mounted handles raise the legrests, and each one locks in three positions — a safety feature that keeps the legrest from dropping unexpectedly.
If you’d rather push a button, the power version with headrest and lumbar adds a lot. Both outside seats recline independently. Beyond that, you get an adjustable power headrest, adjustable lumbar support, built-in USB ports, and a home button that returns everything upright at once.
The power headrest is the upgrade most people underestimate. If you watch TV or read in the chair, being able to tilt your head forward while your body stays reclined changes how the sofa feels entirely.

Who the Pinnacle sofa is for
The Pinnacle makes the most sense in a few specific situations.
It’s a strong fit if your room is tight and a traditional reclining sofa would eat the floor plan. It’s also a good match if you want a plush, traditional look rather than a low modern profile. In fact, the tall pillowed back is the main reason people pick it over slimmer reclining sofas.
However, it’s probably not your sofa if you prefer a firm, low seat or a contemporary silhouette. Deep-seat fans over 5’10” may also want to try a larger-scale frame.
