What You’ll Need to Replace Your Handle
Before you get started, you’ll need two essential parts and tools to replace your La-Z-Boy Recliner Handle.
The first one is a replacement handle from La-Z-Boy. You can order one of these by contacting your nearest location.
Next, you’ll need a T30 star bit preferably with an extension to keep you from damaging the leather.
How to Remove Your Old La-Z-Boy Handle
Pull your old handle back to put your footrest in the up position. This will help you access the release screw.
Kneel down at the front of your recliner then use your drill with T30 star bit to remove the screw.
Gently slide your old handle off to reveal the drive rod on the side of your recliner.
How to Install Your New La-Z-Boy Handle
Take your new handle and slide it onto the drive rod in the same upright footrest position as your old handle.
Put in the release screw then tighten it down with your drill and T30 star bit.
Then return your footrest to the seated position by pulling your new handle forward.
